Burhan Dogancay's commemoration at the Met

Thank you very much for The Metropolitan Museum of Art to hold a commemoration for Burhan Dogancay.  Eventhough I was familiar with Dogancay's work, an extensive presentation such as this put it in to a much better perspective for all of us.  I was also  pleasantly  surprised to see one of  my artworks on screen during the presentation, perhaps as a younger artist who also works in public space !

Osman Akan on large sculptural installations

Easton Pribble Lecture Series Munson Williams Proctor Museum of Art / Auditorium  Friday April 19th, 10:45 - 2:00pm As well as Akan's general art practice; lecture will specifically cover conceptualization and realization of Akan's large public artworks with an emphasis on site specific installations in Remote locations.  This lecture is open to public.

St. John’s University is honored to present Sublime Porte: Art and Contemporary Turkey, an exhibition which features a broad range of contemporary works by a select group of emerging and internationally acclaimed artists whose works respond to Turkey’s rich cultural diversity. The exhibition addresses issues of race, gender, sexuality, religion and politics as well as broader arguments concerning art, culture and globalization. ON VIEW at Dr. M. T. Nano technology !

I saw a user comment on a photo of one of my last pieces "Fragmenta"as he was referring to nano technology. "Build the visible from invisible !" I thought this was a nice metaphor for what that piece intended...
